Secure Colocation for your Servers and Equipment
Our colocation service allows you to locate your own equipment in our purpose built data center in Basildon, Essex or in one of our racks at Telehouse (Docklands, London) . Basildon is approximately 27 miles from East London, and forms the ideal location for Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios for companies. Basildon has excellent rail and road links from the City and East London.
- Control over your hardware & software
- Always available connectivity
- Always available power
- Remote hands service included
As well as being good business practice, Insurers, regulatory bodies and, importantly, your customers may all insist on a complete DR plan, to include external co-location.
Your co-location package can include an optional Service Level Agreement – ensuring maximum uptime. In the unfortunate event that a server should go down, our monitoring systems will raise an alert within minutes and our NOS team will respond within the agreed SLA time period – massively reducing the impact to your business.
What is Colocation?
Colocation enables you to host all of your IT systems, servers and rack equipment off site in a secure environment. Hosting your own systems on-site can become increasingly prohibitive for businesses as physical space, power and connectivity costs spiral. It then begins to make more sense to hand over all your hosting to an external organisation for one agreed monthly fee.
Alternatively, you may wish to still host your systems on-site, but are thinking of Disaster Recover (DR) scenarios, should your comms room power or connectivity fail. It then becomes sensible to consider locating some kit completely off-site that can continue to run your business in the event of any disaster. Colocating a single U server can cost less than a hundred pounds per month to guarantee your company presence remains live, regardless of what happens elsewhere.

Pricing for colocation depends upon two main factors: Space required (Number of “U”) and, more importantly, the amount of power required. In some cases, if you require minimum space but high power, it may be more cost effective (and future-proof!) to take advantage of one of deals on quarter, half or full racks.
