ChunkyChips reveals Data Centre Expansion Plan
ChunkyChips, the Essex-based Internet and Communications provider, has today announced plans to expand its Data Centre footprint in the County.
In addition to increasing capacity at the Basildon Data Centre in 2015, the Company has announced immediate availability of prime Tier 3+ Data Centre space in Romford, just 15 miles from Central London.
Said Matt Clayden, Technical Director, “Basildon will always be our “Boutique” colocation space, where we can offer the highest level of hands-on Managed Support and Disaster Recovery options to our Clients. However, many customers have a requirement for premium Tier 3+ space, with all the associated benefits such as 24/7 access, manned security, multiple N+1 redundancy and multi-gig connectivity, as well as full ISO IEC 27001:2005 accreditation.”
Momentum is not slowing at Basildon either, continued Clayden, “Basildon’s continued DC uptake is a credit to the efforts of our staff to provide the highest levels of support and account management to our colocation customers. The Data Centre was always intended to grow organically, and we are now approaching Phase 2 of the development. The first stage of this will be to increase the rack footprint within Pod 1 to accommodate several new quarter and half racks, due to complete in early 2015. Subject to the uptake within Pod 1, we hope to commence work on Pod 2, offering nearly double the capacity of Pod 1, from Q3 2015.
Further details of the Romford Data Centre will be released over the next few weeks, however ChunkyChips are welcoming pricing enquiries now, and access is available immediately for companies looking to colocate within this prime data centre space.
